Making History

Xander Zayas is set to defend his unified WBO and WBA Junior Middleweight World Championships against undefeated superstar Jaron “Boots” Ennis on Saturday, June 27 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, live exclusively on DAZN PPV. The blockbuster event is presented by Matchroom Boxing in association with Top Rank.

Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) captured boxing history earlier this year in Puerto Rico, defeating Abass Baraou by split decision in a thrilling battle to unify the division. The victory made the 23-year-old the youngest unified world champion in boxing today and the first Puerto Rican fighter to unify titles at 154 pounds. Now, the rising star returns to New York City for the ninth time in his professional career, nearly one year after winning his first world title at Madison Square Garden against Jorge Garcia Perez.

Standing across from him will be one of boxing’s most dangerous fighters in Jaron “Boots” Ennis (35-0, 31 KOs), who looks to become a unified champion in a second weight class. The Philadelphia native recently dominated Eimantas Stanionis to unify the welterweight division before making an explosive jump to 154 pounds. In his junior middleweight debut, Ennis destroyed Uisma Lima in the opening round to claim the interim WBA title, sending a clear message to the division.

Now, two undefeated champions collide in Brooklyn with legacy, pride, and unified gold all on the line.

Undercard watch

Emiliano Vargas (17-0, 14 KOs) faces Bryce Mills (22-1, 9 KOs)

Rising star Emiliano Vargas puts his undefeated record on the line against battle-tested contender Bryce Mills in what could be the toughest test of his young career. Vargas (17-0, 14 KOs) has quickly become one of boxing's most exciting prospects thanks to his explosive power and aggressive style, while Mills (22-1, 9 KOs) enters the ring with experience, confidence, and a reputation for durability. With both fighters looking to take the next step toward title contention, fans can expect an action-packed showdown with major implications in the division.

Ben Whittaker (11-0, 8KOs) is taking on Richard Rivera (27-2, 20KOs) for the WBC Silver Light Heavyweight title

Olympic silver medalist Ben Whittaker faces his toughest challenge yet as he takes on Richard Rivera for the WBC Silver Light Heavyweight Championship. Known for his flashy style, speed, and showmanship, Whittaker will look to continue his rise toward world-title contention against the hard-hitting and experienced Rivera. With championship gold on the line and both fighters eager to make a statement in the light heavyweight division, this matchup promises high stakes and plenty of fireworks.
